-There is an interview with Gavin in the January 2000 issue of
Live magazine. Read it
here.
02.25.00
-Gavin's "raves" are listed in the March 16 issue of Rolling Stone
magazine. Here's what is said:
Raves: Gavin Rossdale of Bush
-Kung Fu:
I grew up worhipping Elvis and Bruce Lee in equal measure. I'm fucking mean--I'm
hard as nails now. I have to warm up first, but no one can fuck with me.
I kick people as often as I can.
-Breakfast Food:
Coming from England, you know, we're really big on bacon and eggs. And we
have real bacon here. We don't have just that strip of fat that you guys
think is so great.
Flying First Class:
I've done years where I've had to fly on the wing. Now, when I travel, I
don't fuck around. I like to think of myself as a stylish traveler. I travel
so much and I work so hard that I don't want to die in a bus crash and think,
"Why didn't I fly there in comfort?"
-Chloe Sevigny:
She is my actress of the decade. She's amazing in everything, but she just
found herself in Boy's Don't Cry. I remember that scene where they're in
the shed; her hands are just amazing.
-Buying Paintings:
It's good if money goes around, so I keep it in the creative community. I
love the whole "Sensation" thing, but I would swap anything any of those
artists have done for a Lucien Freud or a Francis Bacon painting.
-Dog Toys:
I buy my dog, Winston, different leads and toys from wherever I go, so he's
got a lot of stuff. At the moment, he's sporting a very fetching camoflage
all-in-one collar and lead. When I'm walking through the airport, there's
often strange squeaks coming from my bag; people think I'm smuggling mice.

-There is a three page article on BUSH in the new Kerrang! magazine
with Slipknot and Metallica on the
cover.
02.07.00
-There was an article in the German Musikexpress last November
called "BUSH: in the crossfire of love and hate."
-BUSH is in the March issue of Playgirl magazine. Here is what it
said:
"BEST FEMALE FRIENDLY BAND NAME -- BUSH
Even if you aren't familiar with this band, upon hearing their name, you'll
immediately feel an affinity. A group of guys willing to name their rock'n'roll
band BUSH is one of two things: very in touch with their feminine side, or
very savvy when it comes to gettin' in good with the ladies."
02.01.00
-There is a feature on BUSH in Profile on Entertainment, a magazine
only distributed for free in Wal-Marts in Canada.
-In Incite magazine, there is an article titled "Machinehead" which
is a battle of the bands on video games. Included are pictures of Dave
Parsons from BUSH (of course), and a member from Filter, Blink 182, and 311.
01.30.00
-There is a letters to the
editor type thing in the newest issue of Alternative Press with Blink
182 on the cover about BUSH. Two of them are positive while one is
quite negative.
-Check out the March 2000 issue of Hit Parader magazine for articles,
links, and news on BUSH.
01.26.00
-Check Rolling Stone magazine in late February/March for an interview
with Gavin in the Raves column.
-BUSH is in the February 2000 issue of the British magazine, Select.
On page 111 there is an article called The Think Tank which includes
an interview with Gavin. Here is a snippet of BUSH from the UK tour
page in the magazine:
"Bush Tour Begins: Bush return home tonight to start their biggest ever UK
tour, showing they're big enough - ie 12 million album sales - not to care
about the 'Nirvana tribute band' jibes. Expect expensive lighting rigs, plentiful
home-dyed redheads in the crowd and lots of songs from their new
*Steve
Albini-produced album 'The Science of Things'."
*The
Science of Things was not produced by Steve Albini.

-I was watching Fashion Television today on E!, and they were airing the
runway show from Tommy Hilfiger's collection for Spring 2000. As we know,
BUSH performed at the same runway show back in September of 1999. Video Fashion
Weekly aired the runway show, an interview with Gavin, and part of the
performance for "Machinehead." Well, Fashion Television aired the same runway
show...except they didn't even mention BUSH! You could see BUSH playing in
the very background, but none of the songs were even heard being played,
nobody mentioned BUSH, no close-ups of the band, nothing. They were just
talking about how Tommy Hilfiger likes rockstars and have them play at his
shows (yet no mention of BUSH!).

the launch of the Razorblade Suitcase tour in Miami, FL. After
those MTV dates with Moby, the band will be playing at some European festivals
before heading back to the U.S. Considerations for touring with the
Smashing Pumpkins is a probability. We'll have the tour dates as soon
as possible!
-BUSH TOUR DATES CANCELLED: From
Bushnet.com:
For the first time since they started touring Bush have been forced to cancel
tonights show in Norwich and tomorrow in Manchester due to illness.
Gavin Rossdale Bush's lead singer was diagnosed by doctors today as having
laryngitis after waking up this morning unable to speak!!
Bush apologise to all their fans who were planning to attend this weekends

for 7th March (Norwich) and 8th March (Manchester). All tickets will
be valid.

02.08.00

"tour dates will be released late this week, or certainly by next week."
Now we all have something to look forward to!
02.01.00
-The U.S. BUSH tour is said to officially begin on March 10,
2000!
01.26.00
-BUSH plans U.S./MTV
tour
"The guys will start their tour around the date of March 15, 2000
in the United States and they will do 25 MTV dates. That tour will extend
for 6 weeks where they will then finish and take 6 weeks off. After that,
they will start their own tour in May. That tour will be a shed tour (for
those of you who don't know what that is - basically it's equivalent to an
ampitheater tour). We'll see how long that goes for.
The only way that this will really change is if either 'Cables' or 'Warm
Machine' does really well and boosts album sales (which could change that
to arenas), but as of now that's where it stands." [quoted
from
BushRoxGrl@aol.com.]
-Costa Rica 2000, a rain

-More on the Austria incident from All Star Daily News:
Gavin Rossdale
The recent public outrage over Austria's latest political faction to gain
power, the ultra-right People's Party headed by Joerg Haider, has stretched
in to the music business as well. Bush's Gavin Rossdale, who is
half-Russian-Jewish on his father's side, incorporated a Jewish prayer into
the band's song "Prizefighter" over the weekend at shows in Graz, Austria
and Vienna, Austria. Rossdale sang a line of the Hammotzi -- a traditional
blessing of bread -- to show his sympathy for Austrian protesters of Haider.
The Austrian political leader is said to have Nazi sympathies and tendencies,
and his recent appointment to a share of power in Austria has sparked a worldwide
outcry. (Kevin Raub)
02.07.00
-On Friday night during BUSH's show in Austria, Gavin sang a Jewish prayer
called Hammotzi. Here's a portion of the article:
"I thought that the best way to put it last night — because I felt that
it was just glib and strange to not even mention it — was just to offer
condolences for people having to deal with that," Rossdale said in a phone
interview from Vienna, where the band has a show Saturday.
Austria's new government, sworn in on Friday, includes the far-right Freedom
Party of Joerg Haider, who has made statements denigrating immigrants and
minimizing Nazi war crimes.
The Freedom Party's inclusion in the government has been met with condemnation
abroad and violent protests at home. Riots in Vienna on Friday night left
56 people injured in the city's worst violence in 10 years.
Rossdale, whose father's family were Jewish emigres from Russia in the 1860s,
said the crowd's reaction to his small gesture of defiance was "really, really
powerful, and really excited and passionate.
"It's taken them a long time to get over Austria's part within the SS and
all that stuff, and it's not a part of Austria that most people I've come
across at our shows are proud of. It's not the favorite part of their history.
There's a sense of serious malcontent."
