Priscilla and I left Detroit at noon and arrived back in Columbus at 4 PM. We made it to the Promowest Pavilion at 5 PM. There was already a line and by the time the doors opened, the line was SO incredibly long!! We tried to meet the guys before the show but the busses were blocked off by gates. I saw Default in their tourbusses through the window though, hehe. Anyways, we waited in line for two hours and it was really cold, and I only had a cardigan with me (it was 65 degrees earlier that day but dropped to 27F that night). Meera showed up at 6:30, and by 7:00 we were on the floor about five rows back from the stage (which was so high off the ground, ugh).
Default came onstage at 8:20 PM, and again they rocked. The crowd loved them. Their CD is quite good, check it out.
After Default got offstage, everyone on the floor pushed forward and we were absolutely squished together. The crowd seemed kinder and gentler than the Detroit show. Well, by the time the show started, I was faced with so much screaming and hysteria and pushing and shoving...somehow I made it up to the second row.
Here is the setlist. Some of the songs are out of order:
Solutions
The Chemicals Between Us
Headful of Ghosts
The People That We Love
Greedy Fly
Everything
Zen
Hurricane
Superman
Inflatable
Machinehead
Comedown
--Encore--
Out of This World
Glycerine (rock version)
Swallowed
Just What I Needed (The Cars cover)
Little Things
During "Everything Zen," Gavin disappeared into the balcony with this guitar. He ended the song there, gave Bone his guitar, and then proceeded to sing "Hurricane." He sang the entire song from the balcony. It was wicked cool! Gavin knows how to work a crowd more than anyone I've ever seen. He came again into the crowd as he did in Detroit. He looked directly at me, yay!
Chris, once again, totally rocked! And Dave, he jumped (literally) around quite a bit! I was so shocked...Dave...our bobbing bassist has moved past only bopping cos now he bounces, too! Robin couldn't stay sitting down and played the drums standing for part of some songs, it was cool to acually be able to SEE him. Sacha was great, too! Again, fantastic show! It was my sixth Bush concert. And now, after the show...
BRRRRRRRRR! SO INCREDIBLY COLD. I don't think I have ever been so cold in my life for so long! We waited around by the tourbusses for an hour and a half wearing only pants, a short sleeved shirt and my new Bush hoodie. I honestly couldn't feel my feet or my hands anymore, my face was wind burned. There were about 20 of us by the busses waiting. I don't know how I did it. Sacha came outside for about 2.2 seconds and went back inside. But finally at 12:35 AM, Gavin comes out with Bone and Sacha (with the silver videocamera by his side). I swear, it was like I died and had gone to heaven...the pain was all of a sudden gone and here was this angel coming through the gates! I almost wanted to cry, because it was just so cold...and because I was so happy! Gavin remembered me from the night before, and so did Bone! Gavin was about to sign a CD booklet for me, and I mentioned that he had already done that last night (why did I say that? I don't know!). He was like "aww I already signed it!" and he smiled and gave me a hug!!! He asked me where I was from, and I told him Cincinnati, but I now live in Columbus. I later got a picture with him. Gavin was in such a good mood! He is so funny! He gave everyone a piece of his time in the freezing cold and apologized that we waited so long (and Bone thought we were crazy! Hehe.). Dave came out soon after. I went over to Sacha to say hello. He gave me a hug, and told me that he loved the picture and thanked me. Very sweet. I then went over to Robin who was behind the gates. He signed everything for me! I had all my CD booklets in my hand and some pictures. He asked me if he wanted to sign everything, and I felt bad so I said that he didn't have to, but he did anyway! There was a picture of him and I from two years ago, too, that he signed "With Love, Robin." Awwww. Before Bush left, I asked Bone how his new baby was (who is now 16 months old). He smiled and said she was beautiful. Her name is Layla (not sure how to spell it though). Such a pretty name! So anyways, Bush left back to their busses, and I left back to my car. My hands were stinging so much that I could barely drive. And two hours later I was still thawing. My throat is killing me and my hearing is muffled. But you know what?
IT WAS WORTH IT!
