The members of BUSH were born in the country of England. Their names are:

Gavin Rossdale (10.30.67) singer, songwriter, guitarist

Nigel Pulsford (4.11.63) lead guitarist

Robin Goodridge (9.10.66) drummer

Dave Parsons (7.2.64) bassist

- Gavin Rossdale -

Gavin McGregor Rossdale was unable to speek until he was four years old. He didn't know how important his voice would be in the future...At the time Gavin was 11, his parents, Barbara and Doug, had divorced. His foot doctor father won custody over Gavin and his older sister, Soraya. Soraya made Gavin into a 70's English punk: bleaching and putting eggwhites in his hair, painting his finger nails blue or black, and putting glitter on his stomache. Every week, Gavin went down to the store to buy a single from a band or singer he enjoyed. Such were from the Sex Pistols, the Pixies, the Clash, Bob Marley, Breeders, and more. These bands were a huge influence on Gavin. Around 13, he also began to shoplift. At the age of 17, Gavin dropped out of the Westminster Prep School to play for a Chelsea soccer team; but because of an injury, he had to quit. Gavin then decided to head for the states; working odd jobs for seven months in California and six months in New York. He then returned to England starting a band called Midnight, putting out a single. The first song Gavin wrote was called "Silver Ladder." He soon dropped out of the band, however. Gavin started playing guitar when he was 18-19. Later in life, he saved a puli dog, Winston, from his awful neighbors. He would have six years of guitar experience before BUSH.

- Nigel Pulsford -

Nigel Pulsford began playing guitar at around the age of 12. His first guitar teacher was his sister, Jan Pulsord, who plays for Cyndi Lauper now. Later though, Nigel did have his own private instructor. His bands before BUSH include Kings Blank and others. He would play guitar for 18 yrs before joining BUSH.

- Robin Goodridge -

When Robin Goodridge's older brother, Steven, left for college, Robin was about 12 yrs old. This was seven years after the death of his father. Steven left the drums to Robin, where his drumming began. He became part of many succesful bands. The first one was a band called The Beautiful People. They put out an album called "If 60's Were 90's", yet Robin left the band having about 14 years of drumming experience.

- Dave Parsons -

Dave Parsons started playing guitar as a child. He explains how he started playing bass: " Some friends of mine, when I was still in school, had a band and they were losing thier bass player. And I wanted to play in a band, and I said "I'll do it. I'll do it." I never really played in one before, but I was so enthusiastic, that they gave me the part and I had to pick the bass up and I learned it from there." Dave was also in a succesful band caled Transvision Vamp also putting out an album. They soon broke up and Dave left the band, having 15 years of bass guitar experience.

- How It All Began -

Around 1992, Gavin and Nigel met backstage at a concert in London. They had the same interests in music and decided to form a band. Gavin knew Dave and took him as a bassist. They picked up a drummer somewhere along the line and gave their band a name, Future Primitive. One night at a gig, Robin Goodridge happened to be in the audience. At the end of the show, he got drunk, went backstage, and told the band their drummer sucked. They took Robin as a drummer and called their band BUSH- named after a suburb in London called Sheperds BUSH. It was also the name of other things =). Gavin also liked the "shh" at the end of the word. One night, D.J. Gary Crowley hears the band and sends a demo tape to Rob Kahane of Trauma Records. Rob meets the band during demo sessions in a Harlesden, London Studio. Immediately, the band signs. Within three weeks, the band produced their first album, Sixteen Stone. The album was produced with Clive Langer and Alan Winstantley. However, Nigel's father was extremely ill at the time and Nigel could not attend all the recordings. Later, Nigel's father died.

- BUSH Rises In America -

On December 12, 1994, the video for "Everything Zen" is recorded in one take and enters the the U.S. Modern Rock Singles Chart on its way up to number two. They perform their first U.S. concert at the CBGB Venue in New York. On May 20, the first U.S. tour kicks off at Strawberry Bank in Hampton, New Jersey. BUSH later takes along the Goo-Goo Dolls and No Doubt. (Rumors had it that after Gavin broke up with his long time girlfriend Jasmine Lewis, No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale were going out.) Finally, on July 17, 1995, Sixteen Stone is certified platinum (selling one million copies) by the RIAA. One August 12, BUSH appears at the XFest at the Deer Creek Music Center in Noblesville, IN with Weezer, Sponge, and more. Th bill estimated $219, 944 and 133,000 people attended. One week later, midway through the tour, BUSH performs an acoustic set on WBCN Boston followed by a sold out show at the Memorial Auditorium in Massachusettes. In October, the song "Bubbles" makes the cut to be put on the soundtrack to the film, Mallrats, which is released in November. On November 4th, 1995, "Comedown", spurred by another video, reaches number three. During this month, the Little Things Enhanced CD-ROM is released. On December 16, BUSH was the music guest on Saturday Night Live. On January 22, Sixteen Stone is certified by the RIAA becoming platinum three times. On February first, BUSH returns to the U.S. for a further three month concert visit beginning at the Cumberland County Coluseum in Portland, ME, before returning to London to record a sophmore album. Two days later, Sixteen Stone is lisenced via Trauma to Interscope and becoming number four on the U.S. Charts. April 13, 1996 is when BUSH premeired on the Saturday Night Special. The album has gone platinum about eight times and copies are still being sold. Singles from that album include "Everything Zen", "Comedown", "Little Things", "Glycerine", and "Machinehead". On July 20th, 1996, Nigel Pulsford and his long time girlfriend Judith Rose, an artist, got married! On September 4th, 1996, BUSH performed "Machinehead" and won for Viewers Choice Award for the song "Glycerine." Unfortunately, BUSH isn't too known in their homeland. Robin and his girlfriend, Glynis, have a little girl named Ruby Rose born on October 15th, 1996.

- A New Album -

On November 19, 1996, BUSH releases their sophmore album, Razorblade Suitcase, produced by Steve Albuni. The first week, sales totalled up to about 300, 000 copies sold. Those who were the first 50 to buy Razorblade Suitcase from Best Buy received a free Razorblade Suitcase Enhanced CD- ROM. Their first single, "Swallowed", made it up to number one even before the album was released! The next video for "Greedy Fly" was also a hit. Costs of the video estimated more than $700, 000.

On March 20th, 1997, the U.S. Razorblade Suitcase tour officially kicked off in Miami, FL. The show sold out in less than 45 minutes with 16, 000 people attending. The opening band was Veruca Salt. Later during the tour, a band from Gavin's Mad Dog Winston Records, Souls (from Sweden) opened for BUSH with Veruca Salt. In June, both Souls and the Jesus Lizard opened for the band. During this time, BUSH performed at the 1997 MTV Movie Awards, "Cold Contagious". They also won the award for Best Song From A Movie for "Machinehead" from the movie Fear. During the tour, BUSH performed at Rockfest at the Texas Motor Speedway. On July 10th, 1997, both legs of the tour ended in Canada. From there, BUSH went on to touring in Europe. They also played at festivals such as the Reading festival. In late August, BUSH gigged with Silverchair in Austria and Germany for a few shows. On September 18th, 1997, BUSH won Best International Group and perfomed Swallowed at the 1997 MuchMusic Video Awards. During the '96 awards, the band won before for Best Band. Singles and videos from Razorblade Suitcase include "Swallowed", "Greedy Fly", "Cold Contagious", "Personal Holloway", "Bonedriven", and "Mouth". The sequel to the movie American Werewolf in London, American Werewolf in Paris, will feature the single for Mouth. The soundtrack is due out on Decmeber 11th. In November of 1997, they released an album of remixes, Deconstructed, and their home video, Alleys&Moterways. BUSH was also nominated as Best Rock Act for the 1997 Mtv European Awards and a Grammy. Since then, BUSH has won their first American Music Award on January 26 for "Swallowed."

Unfortunately since we can't tell the future, we can't predict what BUSH will be doing later till the event occurs. So, we will just have to follow Gavin's lyrics...."What until tomorrow comes. See what the day will bring....."

Gavin Rossdale has made a television appearance on the 1998 MTV Europe Music Awards and 1997 MuchMusic Awards.
